Technology
I have came to realize that children nowadays are exposed to technology at an early age. Although we are going towards the technology age, however for me, I feel that exposing children to technology such as iPhones and iPads at the age of 3 is inappropriate.
I say it is inappropriate as we can practically see a child as young as the age of 3 playing with iPhone and iPad at coffee shops as well as cafes everywhere. This is a good thing for the parents to somehow "control" their child without them being too noisy and running around the place. However, this causes the child to be less interactive with the family or parents. I personally had this experience over the new year where my nephew has been busy staring at my brother's iPhone throughout the day; playing with games. He ignored everyone who talked to him and even refused ang pao which is given to him. His entire world was just around the device. He never talked or replied to anyone.
Besides that, I have seen for myself random strangers and realized that it's becoming a trend that the parents would hand over their devices to their children the moment they sit down at the table, and from then on the child will be staring at the device throughout the entire mail ignoring everything that is happening around them. Not only does young children does it but also teenagers.
This attitude or behaviour will soon tear apart a family relationship as the family members no longer talk to each other over dinner as everyone is busy playing with their own devices. Some say that technologies are meant to improve our lives and I believe that. But there should be a limit to what it does.
Moreover, outings with friends often end up with each other facing their devices; busy checking their facebook, twitter and also instant messages.

Chinese New Year!
What I love most about Chinese New Year is the fireworks. Although all grown up, fireworks will always capture my attention. Never get tired of seeing one. Just brings out the awesome CNY mood within.

Reunion Dinner
It is a Chinese custom to have reunion dinner on the eve of Chinese New Year where all family members gather around.
Frankly, I have not really experienced an actual reunion dinner. Not because I have no family members around. It is because of some family problems which has lead to such. My hometown is in Ipoh and since childhood, I really dreaded to go back there. I am actually jealous of my friends who gets to go home once in a while knowing that for them, there is a place called home. I have a home, but just my family with no other relatives which is kind of saddening if you really understand what I'm trying to say.
Nevertheless, to those who are back at home with their family and relatives, I wished you all a Happy and Prosperous Chinese New Year!

Stop Online Piracy Act
I am not sure about the news of SOPA is in Malaysia. Stop Online Piracy Act or SOPA is a United States bill that was proposed by U.S. Representative Lama S.Smith to expand the ability of U.S. law enforcement to fight online trafficking in copyrighted intellectual property and counterfeit goods.
Personally, I feel that such bill proposed is just a waste of money and time. The internet is something that is free; developed by people for the people to access information from one corner of the world to another. Passing such act would limit the world of information. The generation that will soon take over or rule the world is the information generation and the simple word such as globalization simply is enough to prove that the bill alone is a waste of time.
Imagine a world with limited information. We would not be able to know the news around the world anymore with a simple click of the mouse. It is practically impossible. Also, people of a country will be confined within their country only, they would not be able to "see" what is beyond the borders of their country. To do so they much leave the comfort of their home and have to spend a whole lot of money just to see beyond. What about those of lower income? They wouldn't be able to travel the world like most people, as such they wont able to see the world's beauty. With the internet, they could see the beauty of the world through the computer.

As such, passing such bill will definitely not benefit the world's population. However this is just my personal opinion. Who am I to stop the United States government if they were to pursue the bill.

Dragon!
Chinese New Years is just around the corner. Frankly, I am not in the mood for it. Maybe it's due to the fact that this semester can be considered quite torturing. Have to cope with 2 subjects as well as with my Project B.
Holidays start today and I already started missing all my unimates. They are only the ones that matter to me in my life. It'll be another week before I could see them again.
